A-class constructions related to the above-mentioned products will be impacted at the same time.
As per the IMO 2010 FTP code, systems already installed will be covered by the certificates, including after the date of expiration. Additionally, the non-combustibility and low flame spread certificates will be valid for the ROCKWOOL material produced before the expiration of the certificate and installed after the date of expiration, for thermal or acoustic insulation.

SeaRox SL 620 / SeaRox SL 620 ALU
SeaRox SL 620 is a semi-rigid slab made of stone wool for fire protection. SeaRox SL 620 is primarily used as part of approved A constructions for Deck and Bulkheads. A-15, A-30 and A-60 steel constructions are approved according to IMO 2010 FTP Code. The products offer maximum fire safety in thin thicknesses as well as high thermal and acoustic performance.

SeaRox SL 740
SeaRox SL 740 is a semi-rigid, resilient slab made of stone wool and is used for comfort (thermal) insulation.

SeaRox SL 320
SeaRox SL 320 is a semi-rigid slab made of stone wool and is used for sound (acoustical) insulation. The product works as a comfort insulation and provides effective noise reduction.

As a result of the pending expiration of these certificates, we recommend that orders for the referenced products migrate to their corresponding new product. Please note: Unless otherwise agreed with the local fire authority/class surveyor, the A-class certificate shall be valid on the date of installation, see also below.

SeaRox SL 340
SeaRox SL 340 is a semi-rigid slab made of stone wool and is used for sound (acoustical) insulation. Where thin insulation thickness is needed, the product works as a comfort insulation and provides effective noise reduction.

As a result of the pending expiration of these certificates, we recommend that orders for the referenced products migrate to their corresponding new product. Please note: Unless otherwise agreed with the local fire authority/class surveyor, the A-class certificate shall be valid on the date of installation, see also below.

IMO 2010 FTP code:
5.1.5 The approval shall be valid when the product is installed on board a ship. If a product is approved when manufactured, but the approval expires before the product is installed on the ship, the product may be installed as approved material, provided that the criteria have not changed since the expiry date of the approval certificate.

IMPORTANT for A class fire constructions:
In the case of type approvals for A-class constructions, then the type of approved product is the actual A-class constructions (steel plate/stiffeners with pins and insulation installed). The interpretation by main classification societies (ABS, DNV-GL and Lloyds) of above rule is therefore that the A-class constructions shall be installed before the expiry date of the approval certificate.

The new products and constructions are part of our new international assortment and certifications that offers global uniform specifications and product properties. For further information please visit our website www.rti.rockwool.com.
